Vanessa Hudgens recently spoke out against the negative tabloid attention she has received over the years. Much of this stems from two scandals involving nude photos which emerged in 2007 and 2009. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, she revealed;
“It’s just silly because I’m a very present person, and that’s the thing that has been so in the past. The fact that somebody keeps bringing up the past is just selfish. I mean, it sucks. I already released a statement the first time it happened. It’s just unfortunate that it keeps reminding people about the past and not the present.”
The High School Musical actress came under public scrutiny largely because the photos violated her squeaky clean image. The constant public attack against the star only magnifies the unfair double standards that dominate Hollywood. A young woman cannot “grow up” in the public eye without her every move being blown up and evaluated.
Get over it people!
