Melissa Smith — a stripper who claims she had a wild two-year fling with Jesse James during his marriage to Sandra Bullock — had two serious brushes with the law in the past year … and even served jail time.

Sources tell TMZ Smith was busted last May for beating up a cop and resisting arrest.

Smith pled guilty and served 20 days in a California jail.

And just two days ago — the same day she sold her Jesse James story to a tabloid — Smith plead “not guilty” to a DUI charge.

Smith was arrested for that DUI last month and blew a .18 — in technical terms, she was sloshed. -TMZ

Neighbors Call Cops To Sandra Bullocks Home

Although Sandra Bullock took home an Oscar this year, news of her husband Jesse James’ infidelity has put a damper on her prize as police were called to the couple’s Orange County home on Saturday.

According to TMZ, the Orange County Sheriff department was called by neighbors due to a horde of photographers stationed nearby .

Although a member of the police department claimed that the event was, “no big deal,” and nobody was even issued a citation, officers still appeared at the Blind Side actress’ home to check the situation out.

Apparently one of the neighbors engaged in an argument with one of the twenty or so photographers in a public parking lot down the road, sparking a call to the police.

Jesse publically admitted and apologized to cheating on his wife earlier this week. -OK Magazine

Demi Moore Stops Possible Suicide On Twitter

Demi Moore’s Twitter exchange with a suicidal 18-year-old may have helped save his life this morning … but she’s not the only actress who stepped up to help the guy out.

Turns out Nia Vardalos from “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” called a suicide prevention center in Los Angeles after seeing Demi’s grim exchange with the guy — who was threatening to hang himself in a tree outside of his Florida home.

TMZ has obtained the phone call made between the suicide prevention center and Florida authorities during which Nia is patched in and tells cops everything she knows about the guy from the information on his Twitter account.

Cops were actually able to locate the guy using Nia’s info — and according to the police report, the guy was “sitting at his computer desk crying” when they found him.

Cops say the guy — who admitted to needing medical help — was placed under protective custody. -TMZ

Tiger Woods Discusses Plans For A Comeback

Beleaguered golfer Tiger Woods has reportedly gone from his Florida home to the bungalow he owns in the same gated community for a meeting with officials from the Tavistock Cup to discuss plans for a comeback

Update: Tiger Woods just announced he will play at the Masters next month.

TMZ.com reported that Tiger — escorted by security to the bungalow — attended the closed-door meeting.

The celebrity Web site has previously reported that Woods had planned to play at Tavistock next month — a PGA event between the golf pros at Isleworth and the nearby Lake Nona.

Sources told the Web site that after Tavistock, Woods plans to go to Augusta, Ga., for the Masters.

Meanwhile, Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren has refused to move back in with him, RadarOnline.com reported today. -NewYorkPost

Spencer Pratt Turns Down The Hills For Cyber Security Job

Spencer Pratt announced Monday he’s fleeing ‘The Hills’ for a job at American Defense Enterprises, a self defense company that offers “world-class training in the entire spectrum of small arms weaponry.” The reality star told PEOPLE he discovered a new passion in life, working for the Los Angeles-based company in their cyber security division.

To those thinking this was another one of Pratt’s media “gotchas,” well, you’d be wrong. PopEater spoke with Pratt’s new boss, A.D.E. head Bill Beasley, who insists the 26-year-old star is sincere and determined to “help do something good for a change.”
“Spencer is not the person you see on TV, and he is not the typical Hollywood guy,” Beasley tells us. “Spencer deeply cares about politics and world affairs. If you visit his home, he has very thick books on all of these topics — that he has actually read cover to cover. He really cares deeply about the safety of our country.”

So, what exactly is Pratt giving up ‘The Hills’ for? Beasley says Pratt approached him with the idea of creating a cyber security division after hearing President Obama speak on the issue in May 2009. It’s a new position at the company, which primarily offers several levels of weapons training.

“Being in charge of the cyber security division doesn’t pay nearly as much as a Hollywood job, but Spencer wants to do this,” Beasley insists. “He is passionate about creating a cyber security system to help defense capabilities for the U.S., and he graciously asked me to be a partner.” -PopEater

Further showing his commitment to cyber security, Pratt has tried his hand at lobbying Washington as well, having “contacted the Pentagon, senators and politicians about this system, and he is getting a big response.”

According Beasley, Pratt has committed to spend “a lot of his own money” on efforts to get lawmakers and defense officials to listen to him. The White House’s Cybersecurity Coordinator is Howard Schmidt.

Earlier Monday, Pratt explained his thinking in making the surprising career move.

“My new mission is this: To do my part in maintaining the technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent emerging technologies from threatening our nation’s security,” he said. “I have decided to refocus my energy and devote my full resources to helping America face this and other unprecedented challenges.”

Pratt, whose wife Heidi Montag will remain on the MTV show, says that while he’s bummed to be taking a break from ‘The Hills,’ he felt he’d be dishonoring his country “or myself if I were to continue this endeavor” when he had “the ability to assist our nation against these prevalent threats.”

The 26-year-old part-time rapper was until recently managing Montag’s career, but was replaced by a psychic named Aiden Chase. He is currently studying software engineering at USC.

For the time being, you won’t be hearing any more out of Pratt, whose publicist tells PopEater the star is busy “settling into his new job. He appreciates the support and should be available for interviews in the next few weeks once he is up to speed with his new employer.”

Startifacts Offers $20,000 for Corey Haim’s Funeral

The celebrity memorabilia website, Startifacts announced they will donate $20,000 to cover funeral expenses for the late actor’s burial.

The company confirmed that they will donate proceeds from their Haim-related auctions to help pay for burial costs. Instead of waiting for all auction items to be sold, Startifacts will donate the money on Tuesday at Haim’s Toronto funeral.

The 38-year-old actor died on Wednesday after suffering from flu-like symptoms.

L.A. County Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter told US magazine, “We did an autopsy. We gave his mother some preliminary findings but it does not mean it is the final cause of death. The final cause of death is pending toxicology and other reports. We did discuss issues involving his heart and lungs. We are not going to comment on specifics until the final results come back. 50 Cent Security Brawls With Journalists

A member of 50 Cent’s security team was arrested and charged with attacking several members of the press that were gathered outside his Cophenhagen hotel, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Michael Klausen of the Copenhagen Police Department told RadarOnline.com, “A man has been charged with assaulting two photographers. We don’t release the name of the person involved, but it’s my understanding he works for 50 Cent.

Nikoloj Vraa, editor-in-chief for MSN Star Lounge, spoke exclusively to RadarOnline.com and described being one of the victim’s of the attack.

“I feared for my life,” he said, explaining that he was waiting outside 50’s Skt. Petri Hotel with about “five or six members of the press.”

They were waiting for 50 to depart for his concert performance in Copenhagen when all hell broke loose.

“One of 50 Cent’s bodyguards came out and told us to leave,” Vraar told RadarOnline.com “The next thing I knew, he grabs my throat and tried to strangle me. He cut off my airway, and I couldn’t breathe. He took my camera and deleted photos.

“Hotel security came out and told us to call the police and that is what we did. I think the bodyguard attacked at least 2 other people. The bodyguard was arrested and I was told by the police that he was going to be charged with assault, threats and robbery.”

Vraar went to a hospital in Copenhagen, where he was checked for his injuries. He told RadarOnline.com from the hospital that his next stop was the police station. “I will be going straight to the police station and complete whatever paperwork is necessary,” Vraar told RadarOnline.com. “Earlier in the day this bodyguard told us that ‘Danish law doesn’t apply to us here because we are Americans.’” -RadarOnline
