Charlie Sheen found himself in familiar territory on Monday, going in front of a judge in a Colorado courtroom.
Sheen was formally charged with felony menacing and two misdemeanors: 3rd degree assault and criminal mischief, in connection with his alleged Christmas Day assault on third wife Brooke Mueller, who was also present for the hearing
Mueller told police that Sheen threatened to killer her and held a knife to her throat as their argument escalated. Both had been drinking and had alcohol in their bodies at 8:30 am.
On Monday, lawyers for the couple requested that Judge James Boyd relax the protective order that prohibits any contact between them. That request was granted with the provision that Sheen stays away from owning or handling any firearms and does not consume alcohol. Sheen has been through rehab twice but has not publicly addressed the fact that he was drinking on Christmas when Brooke called 911.
