1sheen1After months of refusing to address his relapse into boozing, Charlie Sheen has entered rehab his publicist said.

RadarOnline.com reported just days ago that people close to Charlie have been urging him to enter rehab and he was refusing. At that time his people denied that anyone was urging him to go in.

Judge Convicts Charlie Sheen With Felony

Charlie Sheen found himself in familiar territory on Monday, going in front of a judge in a Colorado courtroom.

Sheen was formally charged with felony menacing and two misdemeanors: 3rd degree assault and criminal mischief, in connection with his alleged Christmas Day assault on third wife Brooke Mueller, who was also present for the hearing

Mueller told police that Sheen threatened to killer her and held a knife to her throat as their argument escalated. Both had been drinking and had alcohol in their bodies at 8:30 am.

On Monday, lawyers for the couple requested that Judge James Boyd relax the protective order that prohibits any contact between them. That request was granted with the provision that Sheen stays away from owning or handling any firearms and does not consume alcohol. Sheen has been through rehab twice but has not publicly addressed the fact that he was drinking on Christmas when Brooke called 911. Lawyers for Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller met with the prosecutor Friday, but they could not persuade the D.A. to back off the case … sources tell TMZ.

TMZ broke the story that Charlie will be charged with felony menacing and misdemeanor assault when he is arraigned in Aspen on Monday for the Xmas Day brouhaha.

We’re told the D.A. was intractable and the charges will be filed on Monday before Sheen appears in court.

But there may be a big problem in prosecuting the case — as in one Brooke Mueller. Our sources say she wants this case to disappear in the worst way … never a great sole witness on the prosecution side.

As for plea bargaining the case — our sources say it’s possible, if the plea is for a petty misdemeanor, but otherwise he’ll fight it out in court. -TMZ

Charlie is really not having a great weekend! Don’t think the DA in Aspen is a fan of his.
